Owners of Capability Barn
Malcolm and Wendy have lived in Hoveringham for 20 years and have designed both their house, and also their garden, almost entirely from scratch.
Taking for their influences the history of the property (a Cooper’s cottage used to stand there), the stunning views of the rolling countryside and of course, Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown himself, they have designed a beautiful garden that is constantly evolving, allowing visitors some new delight each season.
When they are not in the garden they enjoy travelling, cooking, and getting involved with village life!

In addition to the wonderful flowers and plants, Malcolm has a very special skill in coaxing the vegetables he grows to new heights!
